Last.fm

Last.fm is a site where you can share music and randomly show the World the brilliant taste you have (yes you can). You ’scrobble’ the music from your computer and create charts, playlist and more.

The greatness of last.fm are the labels and the connected artists, so if you are a fan of, lets say, Thirteen Senses and you are bored and want to listen to some new band, you just go to TS’s page and see the connected artists, choose one, play a track (if available) and discover new music!

There is a huge community of course, lots and lots of groups where you discuss music and sometimes other topics.

The only problem (well, you know, besides their anarchy and racism) is their users.

If you don’t care if you lose your charts and scrobbles (I myself, have over 65 thousand scrobbles so I DO care) you can go to any page of any artist and troll.

Trolling is the art of talking shit out of your ass of summat you, supposedly, don’t care or like but apparently, have enough time to waste criticizing that summat, in this case, band or artist.

The conflicts generated through this are incredible and they can really affect fans (I know it has affected me somehow) to the point that you don’t want to visit the page of your artist anymore. I haven’t visited the Arctic Monkey’s page in months for this reason, it makes you lose trust in fandom and in the people around it, you don’t want to know anything about the fans, like you. I, for example, visit everything so I can get the news, the pictures, the etc, but avoid all comments from people.

Now this may seem childish and even weak but it is like that when you love summat this much, you know what I mean, your greatest fandom and all and suddenly random people who don’t care come and criticize, it is sometimes hard.

And Last.fm is the greatest place to do that or one of the greatest, you just need create a trolling account and start the fights. It is pretty sad.
